Mar 08, 2011  For people who downloaded a.dmg file onto a Windows PC computer, chance is that the.dmg file cannot be opened or viewed in Windows directly. If you have no a Macintosh computer, there are several software utilities which able to read, open, convert or burn the.dmg file directly on Windows. ImgBurn is a lightweight CD / DVD / HD DVD / Blu-ray burning application that everyone should have in their toolkit! It has several 'Modes', each one for performing a different task: Read - Read a disc to an image file; Build - Create an image file from files on your computer or network. Non-Macintosh systems may access DMG files and extract or convert them to ISO image files for burning. Several applications are designed to offer this solution for Windows systems. 7-Zip and DMG Extractor are the best options to open DMG file on Windows because they are compatible with the most DMG. So you downloaded an.iso or.dmg file, and now you want to burn it to CD or DVD on your Mac. No extra software is required. The delightfully useful Disk Utility built into OS X can burn. Since ISO is a better format for Windows, you can also convert the DMG to the ISO format and then use the ISO disk image to create the bootable USB. Please note that you can't boot your Mac from bootable USB made from an ISO file, which means you'll have to convert it back to DMG prior to that.

TransMac seems to have problems with burning double layer DVDs.If you're not satisfied with that, or would like to use NEROinstead anyway, then I'm almost sure, that the expanded dmg file isin fact identical with an iso image. So expand the file, and renameit to iso, and use another burner to burn the bastard!!!!!! :)

I in fact used ultraiso to convert the dmg to iso (to expandit), but the resulting file is exactly the same size that ofcreated by transmac. moreover, transmac calls expanding as'converting to iso'.

So, try at your own risk, but i think that would work.

Method 2Couldn't mount dmg error code 112 2600. : There is a simple freeware app called DMG2ISOthat does the same thing in an easy way. Just right click an openthe DMG file with this utility. You will find the converted ISO inthe same page.

Burn Dmg To Usb Bootable

Hello there,
I am having some troubles burning a .dmg (Mac image file) onto a disk, using Windows (XP and Vista).
I searched and searched, and found that Transmac would do the trick, without any conversion or anything necessary. Just select the .dmg file, and it will burn the Mac-compatible image. But when I tried to burn it, Transmac (version 7.5) gives me the error: 'The Volume Image File could not be opened!' This is AFTER I select the .dmg file and load it into the 'image file to write' box, which works fine. The error appears only after I click 'OK' to burn.
Any ideas? Is there any other software that I can use that will directly let me burn a .dmg image file? (not convert, just burn the image)
Thanks!
